The Northern Echo, Newsquest’s flagship daily title, is looking for a top-class reporter with bundles of enthusiasm to join the Great Daily of the North.

For more than 150 years, The Northern Echo has been setting the agenda with hard-hitting investigations and campaigns - and an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team.

We are looking for a journalist who lives and breathes digital, understands the needs and pressures of a modern newsroom, can spot news trends and react to them fast, and gets their teeth into the sorts of campaigns and investigations worthy of our distinguished history.

Based at our headquarters in Darlington, you will be covering vibrant patches in the North East and North Yorkshire, where you will use your passion for digital storytelling to unearth amazing stories.

Outstanding trainees (with NCTJ prelims, including shorthand) will be considered alongside senior reporters. A full driving licence and access to a car is essential.
