Following the promotion of our senior reporter to our newsdesk, the East Anglian Daily Times and Ipswich Star series are looking for a new reporter to join our award-winning team.
We have a busy and exciting county to report on and our reporters have every opportunity to develop their skills to deliver top-quality journalism in a fast-paced newsroom.
As part of our Suffolk reporting team, you will be expected to forge strong contacts in our communities, as well as be on top of the issues that impact them most.
Crime, councils, courts, social issues and culture will all be on your radar, and you will know how to dig out a story. If something happens in Suffolk, you will be the first to know about it.
In recent times, Suffolk has seen its restaurant and bar scene blossom, its football team join the Premier League and a constant buzz around our county town of Ipswich.
There are stories at every turn and it is a fantastic place to live.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to write clean, accurate copy are a minimum requirement. Multimedia awareness is a benefit, but the role is suited to someone strong in the fundamentals of journalism – building contacts and finding exclusives. This is not a desk job, and those unwilling to get their hands dirty need not apply.
