As a Construction Wave reporter you will be part of a small yet ambitious editorial team at a growing online publisher, delivering in-depth and impactful news stories to an enthusiastic audience and subscriber base.

Reporting directly to the editor you will hunt down the latest trends, reports and stories shaping the construction industry and its related markets, and produce well-written and informative news and features for our readership, while managing our daily newsletter and helping to deliver an emerging events offering.

You will have completed or be finishing a relevant training course in journalism such as an NCTJ or equivalent qualification, and have at least one year’s experience of working in a news room with other journalists.

Knowledge of the construction industry is desirable but not essential, as we are seeking someone with a curious nature, strong work ethic and willingness to learn, who is excited by the prospect of being part of a fast-paced, growing publisher serving the construction media market.

Ideal candidate:

  • Minimum one year’s news room experience

Duties:

  • Pitch and write stories, populate and publish daily newsletter
  • Help to improve our key products (website and newsletter)
  • Research and report key events and trends in the sector
  • Conduct interviews, webinars, events, seminars
  • Help grow and manage our social media channels 
  • Expand your network of industry contacts
  • Help to improve and refine company processes

Compensation:

  • £25-30k per annum DOE (plus annual bonuses)
  • Annual stipend for professional/personal learning after 6 months of employment
