The Bournemouth Echo is looking for a news editor who can build on our online growth and ensure that our printed paper is of the highest quality.

The job involves working with a team of ambitious and motivated journalists in our newsroom in Bournemouth town centre, just a stroll from the beach.

Your job will be to increase traffic on our bournemouthecho.co.uk website, accelerate digital subscription numbers, work with reporters, and ensure our work is legally and ethically sound.

You will work alongside the editor, audience, and content editor and have a leading role in running the newsroom day-to-day, generating ideas and ensuring they are brought to life properly.

We are looking for a creative, digitally savvy operator who understands the needs of a modern newsroom and wants to help deliver the best stories to our audience.

The ideal candidates would already be working on a newsdesk or could be an experienced senior reporter looking for the next step up.

You will have an excellent knowledge of media law and will be comfortable dealing with members of the public.
