Owing to an internal promotion, the Southern Daily Echo is looking for a digital reporter to hit the ground running at our busy newsroom in Southampton.
This role is open to a qualified senior reporter or trainee, ideally with a gold-standard NCTJ, including 100 words per minute shorthand, a full driving licence, and your own transport.
You will be digitally adept and able to cover breaking news, interview people, and capture images and video.
You will want to tell the stories our audience cares about. You will also use analytics to help guide you.
This role will include covering court, crime and politics, and you will also help champion the local community through your journalism.

This is a fast-paced and enjoyable role. You will be supported in the newsroom by the Newsquest central training team and, where applicable, by an external NCTJ-accredited provider.
