Newsquest London is looking for a breaking news reporter who can help take our coverage of live news to the next level.

Our reporting of breaking news is a vital part of our digital expansion, which has seen the team grow at a time of huge audience growth over the last few years.

The breaking news reporter will be part of a highly energised team responding to the biggest news breaking across the capital as it happens.

They will be proficient in the use of social media to find breaking news before the competition and be comfortable door knocking and sending live updates back from the scene of an incident.

A working knowledge of SEO, Google Trends and the ability to write eye-catching headlines are also required.

The position would suit a senior reporter or an ambitious, NCTJ-qualified trainee.

The vibrant and energetic Newsquest London team work in a hybrid system, with home working complemented with regular days in our plush office in central London.

As part of the reporting team you will be fast, first and accurate and work alongside like-minded digital reporters publishing stories across our social media and digital platforms.

The position would involve being part of a rota for early and late shifts, as well as weekends.
