The digital edition of the award-winning current affairs magazine The Week is looking for an audience editor, specialising in social media, to join our friendly team and report to our executive editor.

Like our sister print publications, The Week’s website cherry-picks the best news articles, features and opinion pieces from media outlets across the globe and weaves them together into bite-sized digests and comprehensive briefings.

What you will be doing...

  • Set the tone for The Week's social media presence on existing and new platforms in the UK and US
  • Develop a small, social-first content strategy to attract and convert new audiences via organic social media
  • Manage the daily social media output of The Week and using analytics tools to monitor performance
  • Collaborate with the editorial and marketing teams to curate engaging social content
  • Pitching and writing website articles to increase traffic to the site

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve...

  • At least three years' experience in social media management and experience with audience growth
  • Expertise in and passion for social media platforms, especially Facebook, X and Instagram
  • An excellent grasp of language, spelling and grammar.
  • An understanding of current affairs and media law 
  • Familiarity with The Week’s approach to news and features and a good sense of what will interest our readers
  • An understanding of search engine optimisation
  • Candidates with experience in journalism will be at an advantage

The expected range for this role is £29,000 - £40,000

This is a hybrid role from our London Office, working three days from the office, two from home
