Newsquest Specialist Media and Future were both named digital publisher of the year 2013 at the Professional Publishers Association (PPA) digital awards ceremony in London last night.
Future took the award in the consumer media category for the second year in a row. Chief executive Mark Wood said in a statement: "To win the top PPA digital award for the second consecutive year is both an honour and quite some achievement against a shortlist of such heavyweights."
Newsquest Specialist Media took publisher of the year in the business category. Dennis Publishing received highly commended.
The British Journal of Photography (BJP) was named consumer app of of the year seven months after a management buyout. New company Apptitude Media acquired the 160-year-old title from Incisive in February. At the time Apptitude bosses told Journalism.co.uk the move would give BJP "breathing room".
The GP iPad edition was named business media app of the year.
Grazia was named the digital brand of the year in the consumer section, Procurement Leaders in the business media category.
Reed Business Information's Estates Gazette was named digital magazine of the year 2013, BBC Good Food took the title in consumer media.
