The group, made up of BBC News, BBC Nations & Regions, BBC Global News and the BBC Sport division, currently employs 179 senior managers in total, the highest number across all the divisions and 31 per cent of the senior management roles at the broadcaster. Of those 179, 40 earn more than £100,000.
According to the BBC, the number of senior managers has been cut by 8.5 per cent as of the end of December and the senior management wage bill cut by 13.6 per cent.
Further reductions will be made by the end of the year in order to deliver the 25 per cent reduction in pay and 20 per cent reduction in headcount agreed with the BBC Trust.
Figures were also released today showing quarterly expenses for the BBC's most senior leaders, which has fallen 35 per cent year-on-year, according to the broadcaster.
