Her new role includes managing and leading editorial processes and commissioning and writing editorials, she told Journalism.co.uk.
Campos Seijo previously edited Pharmaceutical Technology Europe and before that was technical editor at the European Respiratory Journal.
She thinks that the biggest challenge will be 'converting an extremely good product into an even better one'.
"Aim high and be creative," is Campos Seijo's advice to aspiring editors.
